I’m Marta Brummell
I am a former therapist and certified life coach, with a special affinity in working with young adults. With an undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, an MSW from the University of Michigan, and coaching certification from The Life Coach School, my philosophy is firmly established in meeting my people where they are and creating an individualized curriculum to do life. My coaching taps into family systems, human biology, cognitive behavioral theory, societal conditioning, mindset management, emotional regulation, mindfulness practices, and whatever else helps move the needle. Different than therapy, coaching allows me to engage with my clients in a hands-on, practical, direct, and high-touch way. Through a managed and clear mind, open heart, regulated nervous system, and aligned spirit, we can achieve a beautiful and rich life that embraces the twists, turns, and transitions of what it is to live a life and be a human. No greater and more important work. Welcome to the journey!
Being human is a full-bodied experience. Mind, body, and spirit.
We are feeling, thinking, and doing creatures, yet most of us are walking through the world over-thinking and under-feeling. We weren’t taught the simple and powerful tools and skills of how to human in school. As young people, we learn various beliefs, coping strategies, and ways of moving in the world that keep us safe, help us adapt to our environment, get our needs met, and, ultimately, lead us to success — but often at the expense of ourselves and our wellness.
I help my clients get back into the driver’s seat of their lives by getting to the heart of their struggle and reconnecting them to their source. Whether it is stress, anxiety, overwhelm, procrastination, perfectionism, relationship struggles, and/or loneliness, we address the root causes and devise a healthier and more sustainable path forward. Life is not pain-free, but we can learn to live free of unnecessary suffering.
Your journey can begin today. Come join us in The Practice of Being Human. All that is required is an open mind, an open heart, and a willingness to dig in.
